Following the leakage of 2017 senior four Uganda Certificate of Education examinations (UCE), a number of students and teachers are already in police custody to help in investigations regarding the source of the leaked papers. This has come following shocking news headlines in the morning revealing that some exam papers have been circulating amongst students and on social media.
According to an official statement from UNEB, some candidates saw the examination papers before stepping in the examination room. The examination body assures the public that suspects have already been arrested as more investigations go on.
Despite these examination leakages, UNEB has also revealed that this will not affect their timetable and the remaining exams will be conducted as earlier scheduled. Through its principal public relations officer, UNEB has asked the public to report anything connected to examination leakage to both police and via its helpline.
