In her typical way of expression using intimate imagery, activist and researcher Dr. Stella Nyanzi has bashed Makerere University vice chancellor Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe over his “new found form of intimidation of students that seek to oppose his way of management.”
In the post where she starts off in the now famous Makerere war song of “weewe”, Dr. Nyanzi reminds the vice chancellor that students of Makerere have a constitutional right to demonstrate against the tuition hike that has been effected by administrators at the university.
“It is a shame to witness a spineless weak-kneed impotent man throwing his weight around to stifle and repress dissenting views and peaceful demonstrators” Dr. Nyanzi says in the post on her Facebook page.
She goes on to warn the administrator that suspending students without prior caution and issuing severe warning letters to others will not stop the injustice of hiking tuition indiscriminately.
Rhetorically, she wonders what will happen to self sponsored students and those with poor parents and guardians that cannot afford the hikes in fees.
While ending her post, she gave her readers a test of her usual medicine.
“Fuck toxic masculinities running rampage in our public institutions! Fuck you Barnabas Nawangwe for firing students who refuse to suck your capitalist dick! Download with the 15% tuition increment.”
She attached suspension and warning letters of several students that the vice chancellor issued to them in what many see as an intimidation scheme.
Dr. Nyanzi also made mentionn of a plot by staff to demonstrate next week and she wondered whether the vice chancellor would fire them too.
