News reaching the Hive confirms, Sunday Amagule, the winner of the recently concluded Nkumba University Guild elections has officially been sworn in as Guild President, 2020-2021.
This comes after the runner up in the election, Opira “Opra” Otaremwa had filed a petition against the results which lost in a hearing session on Tuesday.
Amagule who is in his third year pursuing a Bachelor of Laws takes over office from People Power’s Byron Luswata, the former Guild president, Nkumba University.
Despite his win, sworn in Amagule squashes his rival Opira saying it was a sign of shame for the defeated aspirant to file a petition against the election results.
“They are just ashamed of losing the election. They splashed millions in campaigns. The voters ate their money and voted for me, the super leader. Opra failed to organize his supporters during elections. It’s too late for him to push them now” a laughing Amagule told Campus Bee.
Joram Kamara , Amagule’s official campaign manager went ahead to mock the defeated aspirant saying the petition was like “The kick of a dying horse” and petitioners should not have wasted their time listening to it.
Amagule who is now in high gear as President says he is ready to legally fight any attempts of over turning his democratic victory.
