The suspect whose room window Brenda Nakyejju fell off from has been identified as Jeremiah Mugyema, a 26-year-old fourth year Medical
Student. Mugyema is currently on the run as police is hunting him down.

Nakyejju fell off Makerere Mitchell Hall third floor on Friday night. She was rushed to Mulago hospital in a very critical condition.

Doctors at Mulago referral hospital tried their best last night and put Nakyejju’s life out of danger. While being rushed to hospital, she, in so much, pain declared to having jumped out of the window on her own after being locked in the room.

Students who escorted her to the hospital say she was speaking and confirmed she jumped “because she had been locked in the room and threatened with rape”. This is the account given by Makerere university chief security officer S.P Mucunguzi Japheth Jeff Jackson.
