The police have released suspects in connection to the murder of Immaculate Kebirungi, a Makerere University Business School (MUBS) finalist who was set to graduate in January 2019. The two suspects were neighbours to Kebirungi who were arrested to assist police in investigations to establish the circumstances under which Kebirungi was murdered and burnt in her room.

More details reaching Campus Bee indicate that police at Jinja road has released the two suspects from their cells on police bond. According to the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, investigations have found no connections of the suspects to the crime and their right to bond had been implemented.

The key suspect in Kebirungi’s murder is his boyfriend (names withheld for investigations) who is currently on the run for allegedly tying Kebirungi on her bed before he killed and burnt the deceased in her room located in Nakawa.

Unconfirmed developments indicate that Kebirugi and her boyfriend (who was allegedly paying her tuition) got some misunderstandings after which they decided to call it quits. It is believed that the cause of her death rotates on their sour relationship, which is still under investigation by police.
