Mourners in Kimuhonde Village were in an unimaginable somber mood as bodies of 3 Mugamba siblings who died on spot in the Buloba accident were laid to rest.

The funeral was held at the home of retired Supreme Court Judge Paul Mugamba in Kimuhonde Village, Kabarole district as grieving relatives and friends witnessed the trio’s send off.

On Friday December 30, Ulrich Kamurasi Mugamba, 31, Elly Winyi Mugamba, 23, and Tara Mugamba, 21, were returning from the western town of Fort Portal when a semi-trailer crashed into the Toyota Harrier in which they were travelling to end their lives.
According to the traffic police spokesperson Faridah Nampiima; “The Friday afternoon accident involved four motor vehicles, including a semi-trailer, a Toyota Harrier, a Toyota Hilux, a Toyota Wish, and two motorcycles.”
According to ASP Nampiima, the Mugambas who were in the Toyota Harrier, died on the spot.
“It’s alleged that the semi-trailer that was from Kampala heading to Mityana District, lost control and rammed into the Toyota Wish, killing three of its occupants and injuring another. It thereafter continued and rammed into the Toyota Hilux, Toyota Harrier, and the Motorcycles,” police explained.
The catastrophe has left many road safety activists calling for more action from the authorities so as to mitigate such losses.
Numerous reports indicate that 55 people died as a result of road crashes only between December 23, 2022, and December 26, 2022, with a further 212 sustaining serious injuries.
May the lost souls rest in eternal peace.
