Tech giant Facebook has turned its guns on NRM and pro government social media users. Tens of NRM leaning social media users’ accounts were deleted without an explanation.
Those affected include Government Citizen Interaction Centre (GCIC Uganda) deputy head Duncan Abigaba, Facebook bloggers Ashburg Kato, Ismail Olaxes, Full figure among others.
Giles Muhame, Chimpreports’ senior editor and the Chimp Reports official facebook page were also deleted.
In a targeted attack on NRM apologists, Facebook is not allowing any of the affected individuals to appeal and restore their deleted accounts.
This seems like a cyber war as previously NRM bloggers had ganged up on NUP social media accounts, hacked and deleted Facebook accounts of Ghetto TV, MAP Media, Kakensa Media, Peng Peng among others.
Government through Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) last month wrote to Google to have YouTube channels of Ghetto TV and MAP media deleted.
