In a bid to help in business growth among youths in the country, the youth leaders have advocated for an increase in funding from the council. The youth have come out to agitate for this as they believes that a functional office will undoubtedly encourage government to support them.
Newly elected chairperson of national youth council Lillian Aber plans to advocate the increase of funding for youths programmes like the youth livelihood programme & to also seek for an influx in programmes like operation wealth creation that will help youth to grow in all dimensions.
Aber is also optimistic that the setup of youth structures with support from government will blossom into something lucrative for the Youth. She further asserts that funds to start up different businesses will be salvaged from these activities that will help bridge the unemployment questions.
Felix Kaihura the General Secretary of National Youth Council affirms that they will work with government ministries, departments and agencies coupled with civil society organizations to change the mind set of youths. The youth have also decided to support the NRM presidential Candidate, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni come general 2016 elections who they believe is the vision bearer of their dreams and plans.
