Kyambogo University Guild President, Amanya German released a statement on Tuesday evening to explain the increments in fees that caused anarchy and turmoil among students who had gone to protest at the Senate.

In this statement, Amanya advised the students to follow the joining instructions in the fees structure books that were given to them during time of admission to the University.

“If you had paid the ITCSP when its not reflected on your joining fees structure, it will be carried foward,” the statement read.

German also informed that there was no increment in the surcharge as it was still at Shs. 50,000 and not 100,000 as earlier purpoted by students.

He then advised the students to continue with their studies

However, some students accuse the Amanya of conniving with the University administration that allegedly paid him close to Shs. 10 million to push their agenda.

“I believe that this letter is just a hoax. We shall continue to protest at senate until we recieve credible communication on these matters,” One student noted.

It is therefore unknown as to whether the students will keep calm amidst communication from the Guild President or continue to protest.

We shall keep you posted
