Last night was awash with screams and hysterical ululations from God Is Able Hostel in Kikoni just adjacent to Olympia hostel. At first, everyone thought it was a case of a rat but alas, it was a petty thief.
Screams started at about 10pm when a female voice was heard screaming “thief” followed by many other screams by various students in the same hostel.
The thief at God Is Able hostel probably didn’t know that this hostel is protected by God himself so he went ahead to steal from the residents- he was caught. According to residents of the hostel, the unidentified petty thing was stealing petty items like tops, bras, g-strings from a girl’s room.
Theft in and around Kikoni has of recent taken a high rise as many students complain that they are attacked and their property is stolen from them. Furthermore, theft in hostels has also risen regardless of the fact that people sign in before entering any hostel.
