The Transport and Logistics Challenge at MUBS took place Thursday night in the ADB building with six teams representing from the Bachelor of Transport and Logistics Management department. Eng Karim Kibuuka the principle at Ministry of Transport and Works graced the occasion as the chief guest.
As per the Challenge, these teams were supposed to make a presentation of ideas that will increase public transport Usage, reduce transport and logistics costs, reduce pollution caused by transport sources, improve customs clearance time and apply ICT in transport and logistics.
Bernard Samora’s group emerged victors with 85 points after suggesting an Urgency Application to solve traffic. They walked away with Shs1 million and a fully paid trip to Mombasa-Nairobi for the team leader.
Second came Jerry Rawling Mbabali’s team with 83 points on a 2 door Bus system. Shs 500,000/- was their prize and a fully paid trip to the same destination.
The third on the winners list was Elijah Levine Balagadde’s team with the Congestion Antidote that received Shs 250,000 and a half paid trip for the team leader.
The event concluded at 11pm with a buffet and cake blast. As the event winded up, Samora’s (1m winner) girlfriend who ran bazark jumping from the audience and hugging him in a Titanic like scene was overheard asking him for iPhone 7 #TeekaRelationshipWolaba.
