News reaching the Campus Bee desk confirms that a Kyambogo student was attacked and severely beaten by a gang of thieves on Tuesday night as he attempted to make his way to North Hall (One of the University’s halls of residence) after his evening lectures at about 9:00 PM
Identified as Ainomugisha Bright from the faculty of engineering in his year 4, he was ambushed in the dark corner that leads to North Hall from Kyambogo University. This area is situated near National Council of Higher Education (NCHE) within the confines of the University though it is unsafe to students, especially those that take their lectures in the evening.
Blood oozing out of the victim’s eyes clearly indicate that he was mercilessly thumped on the head, and it is believed that the thieves made off with the Ainomugisha’s bag containing his phone and some money
Ainomugisha was immediately rushed to Kyambogo University Medical Centre in an ambulance after the incident for medical treatment
This incident is a wake up call for Kyambogo University to beef up security within Campus, including installation of security lights in dark corners for the safety of evening students
