In a bid to revive culture across many platforms, you’ve got to give it up to Makerere University who have been able to somewhat revive and conserve different cultures in the University. In line with that, word reaching the Beehive indicates that King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi is set to visit the University in honor of an invitation by the social affairs ministry of the university.
The student’s guild announced this and are greatly calling upon all students to embrace the royal vist and turn up in extremely big numbers to welcome the youngest king Uganda has.
Below is the message from the Guild which has triggered happiness among the Toro Die-hards who are happy to receive the King.
“Gallant comrades of the mighty Ivory tower good evening, I bring you to your attention the coming of the King of Toro to Makerere.
It is a noble privilege for us as Makerere university student and the 81st guild to receive and host the Omukama Rukirabasaija Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.
We therefore wish to invite everyone in Makerere University community to come and we welcome him during his royal visit to our institution on Friday November 20, 2015.
Your attendance shall make Makerere keep its pride. There will be lots of cultural and traditional performances, and lots of fun. The venue is Main Hall at exactly 1:00 PM and there will be reception at Food Science after. Come and meet the youngest king of the land.”
With that communication, you will be shocked to see a one Nabusaayi from Kikoni donning her Sunday best ready to capture the eye of the king not knowing Oyo is known to be a proud chap that doesn’t give a damn.
