The University fraternity is in deep sorrow after learning of the demise of rekown tutor, Prof Anthony Kabanza Mbonye.
He was a Professor at the School of Public Health, College of Health Sciences, Makerere University & Uganda Christian University (UCU). The exact cause of death is quite unclear.
The late Mbonye was husband to the outgoing State House Comptroller Ms. Lucy Nakyobe Mbonye. State House has come out to stand with the now widow in this trying moment;
It should also be noted that Prof Mbonye was formerly the Director General Health Services while working with the Ministry of Health. His presence has since been felt till his last breath. The Ministry could not hold back the praise he deserves;
Prof Mbonye earned his PhD from the university of Copenhagen and has taught at Makerere University School of Public Health since 1996 and at the Uganda Christian University since 2000’s
