Word reaching the Bee indicates that Amanya Tumukunde, a son to war veteran Lt. Gen Henry Tumukunde is engaged to President Yoweri Museveni’s daughter, Dr. Angela Kakishozi and the two are set to get married.
According to exclusive information secured from a Tumukunde family source, the love birds have known each other since childhood and their relationship is known by both families.
“It is true they are getting married. Our son Amanya and his fiancée have known each other since childhood and their relationship is long known by both families,” the source disclosed before adding “There is nothing new about our son (Amanya) dating Angela because they have known each other for ages. The only thing is that maybe it is now becoming a public matter but there is nothing to hide,”
Besides being bush war mates, Lt. Gen. Tumukunde and Museveni competed for the same office (Presidency) in the January 14th polls. However, this website understands that their political differences have not deterred their children from keeping their romance top notch.
On the other hand, Amanya contested in the 2016 elections for the Western Uganda Youth MP seat but he was miserably defeated by the humble Rugumayo Edson.
Academically speaking, Dr. Angela attained a Bachelor of Medicine degree from Monash University in Malaysia back in 2018. More juice from the inside source suggests that Amanya pursued his degree from the same country, something that made their romance stronger.
