All is not well with Sarah Munaba, a 20-year-old former student of Mengo SS who is currently battling cancer. Daughter to Sulaina Namuli a single mother, Munaba like any other child has dreams to make it in life but all this has been put on hold as the only thing she dwells for at the moment is beating cancer.
According to her mother, Munaba got a small swelling on her body which bled continuously which she didn’t really mind till she was advised to go for check up which she did. She was given treatment but the swelling persisted prompting her relatives to take her for screening at Norvick Hospital where the doctors diagnosed her with Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor, cancer of the nerves to say the least.
Munaba is an old girl of Mengo Senior School, St. Micheal International – Wakiso and Katikamu SDA. She was meant to join university this year but this life situation interrupted her aspirations. She receives treatment at her home in Busabaala and not a hospital because medical bills are too high for her single mother to afford.
Sarah, in a video, says she’s going through a lot of pain but she has not lost all the hopes yet.
“I am going through a lot of pain but I have hope I’ll make it if I get the money for further treatment. ”
Her old classmates, relatives and friends have organized a charity run and car wash at Mengo Senior School on 16th, September 2017 in bid to save her life. Sarah requires two hundred million shillings (200m) to further her treatment in India for an operation. Mobile money lines 0772947753 and Account number 304270000000 ( Finance Trust Bank ) have been availed to the public in case of any contributions. Today is Sarah, tomorrow it will be some one else, let’s join hands and help her fight cancer.
