Two suspects have admitted to having been part of the murder of Edna Musiime, a Makerere University geology student from College of Natural Sciences.
The two are part of the 20 suspects that were arrested by Police Anti Stock Theft Unit and UPDF, currently detained at UPDF 3rd division Head quarters awaiting court hearing.
The development was confirmed by Mr. Michael Longule, the Karamoja region police spokesperson.
“I am glad to say two of the prime suspects in the killing of three geologists have so far been arrested and they confessed,” Mr. Longule said.
The suspects were arrested in a one-week operation in Lokisile and surrounding neighborhood with over 170 illegal guns recovered from the operation.
The Bee had earlier published a story (March 23rd 2022) about the murder of Edna Musiime. Edna was murdered on March 21, 2022 together with Richard Kiggwe (lead geologist), Charles Olweny and other UPDF escorts.
