Earlier Saturday morning, bad news of the arrest of one of the two university students reached the hive. One of the arrested is a one Dickson, a Petroleum and Environmental Engineering student of MUST residing in Boma-Kakyeka zone in Mbarara.
At around 8:15 am, police together led by the District Police Commander (DPC) and a parent surrounded Dickson’s area of residence he was arrested together with his roommate, only known as Andrew who is also a student at the same institution.
According to one of the live witnesses, it has been confirmed that Dickson’s roommate has been bonking a high school kid for months now and yesterday she ran away from home in order to spend the day with the boyfriend.
In addition to disappearing from home, she went ahead to call her parents using one of the phones at Dickson’s place to inform them that she was kidnapped in order for her to spend more time with the boyfriend.
The parents then went to police, filed a report and tracked the phone number that the girl used to call. The place was traced and the police engaged its men together with the DPC to go rescue the child from the alleged kidnappers who had allegedly abducted her from Rwebikoona market.
She was found in one of the rentals where Dickson together with his roommate reside and were both arrested and upto now they’re still at Mbarara Central Police station with charges of defilement and kidnap preferred against them. The girl fainted and is medication in an unidentified health centre.
