Two UMCAT students, Christine Nalumasi, a Diploma Student Pursuing Journalism and Mass Communication and Ronald Katumba, a first year student of Journalism and Mass Communication died in a nasty accident that happened in Mblae last evening.
In a statement issued by the campus’ Public Relations Officer Emmanuel Obwot, on Thursday 29th June 2017 at around 9:25pm, a speeding car No Plate UAU 623N lost Control and knocked the school Gate Entering the school Premises at Mbale Coordinating Center where the Media and Cultural Gala was transpiring causing “several damage”, Injuring two Students.
“The victims were Immediately Rushed to Mt Elgon Hospital where Nalumasi died at 11:15 Pm. and Katumba reported dead this morning at 8:10am.
Obwot says that preliminary investigations indicate that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and that the matter is under Police for comprehensive investigation into this unusual occurrence.
