The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) stole the show at the National Quality Awards in Kampala on Wednesday night, walking away with three major honours.
UCC was crowned Most Outstanding Government Agency, while Hon. Nyombi Thembo was celebrated as Executive Director of the Year. The night became even more triumphant when Mr. Ibrahim Bbossa, Head Public and International Relations, clinched the Public Relations Officer of the Year 2025 award.
Hosted by the National Entrepreneurs and Traders Association (NETA) under the leadership of Dr. Musoke Thadeus Nagenda, the awards recognise organisations and enterprises that set the bar high in terms of quality management, standards compliance, innovation and service delivery.
Represented by Mr. Bbossa, Hon. Nyombi Thembo dedicated the win to the entire UCC fraternity, applauding staff for their dedication and expertise, as well as commitment to excellence.
The ED said he was particularly indebted to the expert advice and guidance he gets from his staff, helping to turn his vision into reality. He added that success is a collective effort and each member of staff has a contribution to make – from the directors to drivers to janitors.
“It takes a team for a leader to be acknowledged,” he said. “Every individual matters, and therefore deserves to enjoy this victory.” he said.
“The sky is the limit.”
