Following a UCU Top Management meeting to review the new lock downmeasures announced in the Presidential address of 18 June 2021, Uganda Christian University fraternity was updated by the Vice Chancellor about the fate of finalists among many other issues as follows;
UCU will hold a virtual graduation ceremony on Friday 22nd October 2021. Finalists who are due to graduate this year should plan accordingly
The ongoing online classes for our students will continue as planned during these 42 days of lock down. Deans and Heads of Department should send to the DeputyVice Chancellor (Academic Affairs) lists of Lecturers who cannot access universitypremises due to restrictions in movement. The University will then organize thenecessary technical support so that online learning can continue seamlessly.
University Management will meet Principals, Deans/Directors and Heads of Department virtually on Wednesday 23rd June 2021 at 10:00am to discuss operational issues for the Semester. In addition, they should prepare lists of 10% of their staff that will be deployed physically on Campuses as guided by His Excellency the President of Uganda.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance and Administration) has applied for travel permits to ease movement of staff that will be physically on campus to oversee university operations.
The university assures all our staff members who have been issued contracts for the Trinity semester that they will be paid salariesthrough these 42 days of lockdown. Salaries for June will be paid on Wednesday 23 June 2021.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs) is working out a tentative schedule for examinations for the Trinity (May) Semester, which are due in August 2021 as initially planned. The mode of examination will be communicated to you all after the 42-day lock down period.
Online applications to UCU for the Advent (September) intake are scheduled to start as soon as the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) releases UACE results. Students who wish to join UCU should prepare to apply via our online portal on our website www.ucu.ac.ug and then click on APPLY NOW, UCU also admits students via the credit transfer option as guided by National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
