According to the sports minister, Crescent Rwanyombya, awards will be given at the end of the games.
“Right now I can’t disclose the awards that will be given to the winning team but it should be well known that they will be there at the end,” he said. He added that the tournament is used to spot new talent on campus.
The tournament is a yearly competition organized by different guild governments at the university.
According Kahuna Ochaki, a former guild official 2017/2018, the tournaments are always intended to create togetherness among facilities and also to groom talents in sports from different faculties as well as improve the social being of students.
This is the talent that the university uses to get students on to the university team.
“The tournament is how I get to see that some students are not only book oriented but are able to do some sport outside academics to relax their minds,” said Paula Mbanza, a second year law student.
Last year, the tournament was won by the faculty of Journalism and Media, and the students were awarded with a trophy, and a goat to roast.
