UCU Elections: Two Nominated for Guild Presidency

The electoral commission at Uganda Christian University (UCU) has confirmed candidates to contest for various posts on the students’ Guild.

According to UCU’s electoral roadmap, campaigns already kicked off after a successful joint selection board vetting and declaration of successful candidates.

Among these, two students have been granted the nod to face off for the top seat – Guild President.

Agira Birungi and Emmanuel Gerald Abura are already on ground to pave their way as the 26th Guild President of UCU.

A Virtual Presidential Debate is expected to take place next week on November 13. This will aid to showcase part of the candidates’ potential to the voters.

The electoral commission picked 14th November, 2023 as the D-day for this year’s elections.

Important to note is that other leadership positions will be voted for on the similar date with subsequent declaration of successful candidates.

All elected students will be sworn in on 21st November, 2023.
