Uganda Christian University Law Society have through their Speaker Mr. Bill Dancan Kumbaine eulogized the fallen Betungura Bewatte who was murdered at Makerere University during a NUP and FDC scuffle at Rugby grounds yesterday.

Bewatte was a student at UCU Kampala campus, pursuing a Bachelor’s of Law in his second year.

“It is with a heavy heart and deep sorrow that we have learnt of the demise of one of our very own, he was a serving member on the Law Society’s sports committee and a student in LLB2”

“To many, he has been a friend, a brother, a classmate and a keeper. It’s in spirit that we send our heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives and friends, but most importantly, to the LLB2 family and Kampala for loosing such a friendly soul, brilliant mind and a promising lawyer in the making,” the Speaker’s message partly read.

The deceased had come to Makerere University for a final Campaign rally of his high school friend Justus Tukamushaba, an FDC Guild aspirant in the 88th Guild race.

The vigil and funeral communications are to be announced by the LLB2 class representative Moses Waiswa.
