The community of Uganda Christian University (UCU) is saddened by the passing away of one of their students, last week on Friday.
Judith Kimono Wamatabu has been a third year student pursuing Bachelor of Business Administration at UCU Mbale campus. She passed away on Friday night few days after giving birth to a baby girl.
While speaking to our reporter, her mother said that Ms Kimono passed away after having severe internal pain ever since she was operated.
“On 2nd April 2020, she felt labor pains and she was taken to Namatala Health Centre IV in Mbale where she gave birth to a baby girl through caesarian section and after she was discharged, few hours later she became unconscious, we invited doctors to attend to her until when the situation normalized. Few days later she felt uncomfortable with severe internal pain that caused her difficulty in breathing and immediately she was taken back to the hospital, later on she was okay and we came back home hoping that everything is fine,’’ Judith’s mother narrated to our reporter.
‘’Friday evening we had supper together. She asked for a drink as her baby was crying and after taking it, she went to her bedroom. Later on I took the baby to her room, she told me to put her aside as she was not feeling well. Within few minutes I checked on her again and she had already blown her last breath! She left me with a baby of 15 days,’’ the mother further said.
Judith was laid to rest yesterday at her ancestral home in Marandu Village, Bukalasi subcounty Bududa district. For condolences or any assistance contact Judith’s mother on +256704434947. May the soul rest in eternal peace.
