The Guild Government of Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono organized a Freshers’ Ball to welcome the new students into the university. The Ball took place on Friday 22 September 2017, at the university basketball pitch from 8 to 11 pm.
The event saw the freshers entertained in dance, music and poetry. The evening was also made very entertaining by the jokes of a stand-up comedian and the emcee of the evening MC Napoleon who was helped by Zoey, co-emcee.
The best moment for the students was when they were invited to share in the special meal that was prepared for them, and the drinks.
Particularly the soft performances of Wilson Bugembe and Brian Lubega gave the students a true feel of Christian, at the university when they were taken through a session of praise and worship by the two gospel artists. Bugembe also took the same opportunity during his performance to invite the students for the Campus Move that he had organized for the campusers and also prayed for them.
Levixone on the other side had a very energetic performance that got the students to their feet dancing to the artist’s dancehall jams. His performance also spoke volumes to a tiny baby girl who stole the show, and part of his mime. A young girl appeared from within the crowd, and danced her way onto the stage entertained by the artist’s music, turning everyone watching seem very emotional for the “little stranger.”
The guild awarded the best dressed fresh couple a gentleman with the bow tie, and a lady in a short multi-colored dress.
The event ended with the giving of gifts to the best dressed freshers, cutting of cake, and speeches.
