Malcolm Kawooya, aka Mal-X graduated in July at Uganda Christian University, (UCU), Main campus with a Bachelors of Computer Science.
The recent graduate while at the Mukono based campus embarked on a number of projects that he juggled with academics. He is currently one of the most sought after performers at the university. He does the kind of music the university would approve, the very inspirational kind with some of the “illest” flows.
At the UG Hip Hop awards that are slated to take place in December, Mal-X has appeared in up to 3 nominations. He is nominated in the categories of Album of the year, Collaboration of the year, (these two nominations are off a project “Nothing from Something,” an EP that he released last year, where he features The Suspekt and The Soultan forming a group 92. X. El), and Inspirational Song of the year (Power was released off his latest project Sounds of Many colors, another EP that he released on the internet at the start of November this year for free download).
Mal-X has made a tremendous performance in the awards beating even already established performers like Navio, Mun G, Nutty Nathan, and Gravity.
With up to 3 nominations, he is in the same level with 2 other rappers Suspekt, who was worked with Mal-X on a number of projects, and Pryce Teeba. St. Nellysade however dominated the awards with up to appears 4 nominations.
