Uganda Christian University is at it again, information reaching our desk being that this time the Guild big wigs sought to hike tuition by an extra UGX 30,000; A move that has attracted negative feedback and rebellion from the gallant students through their Guild Assembly who rejected the Guild President’s move to smuggle the so called “Students fee” on to the hefty fees structure, a burden the students whether interested or not will have to bear.
Most complained that they are already battling the hefty tuition charges but have been resilient enough with the hopes that things would get better but alas “Mama has sent the signal”, tuition won’t be increasing any time soon thanks to the active and fully functioning guild government.
In another piece leaked to our sources, the top Guild officials are seen to have a heated argument about the new increment that the Guild has disguised as “Year book students’ contribution”. When contacted, the Guild Speaker referred us to the Guild President of the Mukono based campus who was unvailable to pass any comments. UCU guild assembly hopes to dismantle the resolution in starting with the Advent semester of this year.
We’ll keep you posted as to any changes. Kudos to the UCU guild government on this one!
