Staff and students of Uganda Christian University Mukono (UCU) have been thrown in panic and fear of a suspected cholera outbreak as many students are currently suffering from diarrhea, Campus Bee has learned.
According to the university clinical officer Zacharias Muddu, 23 students and staff members are currently admitted at Allan Galpin health center with diarrhea.
However, according to KFM, three out of these have since been referred to Mengo hospital.
In other related news, the university vice chancellor Rev. Dr. John Ssenyonyi on Thursday unveiled a new Ambulance worth 250 to handle emergency health cases at the university.
The $77,000 (ugx290m) customised Ford vehicle was received and launched by the Vice Chancellor, Rev Canon Dr John Senyonyi, Director Medical Services, Dr Geoffrey Mulindwa, Guild President, Bruce Mugisha Amanya, staff and students.
