Phionah Akello, a 4th year law student of Uganda Christian University (UCU), Kampala Campus passed on over the weekend due to uncertain circumstances.
The finalist student is just a couple of weeks away from her graduation that is scheduled to take place later this year, in the first week of July 2019, at UCU main campus, Mukono.
According to a press release by the University Guild, Akello has been ill for a while before the unfortunate occurrence.
UCU students finished their exams about 3 weeks ago. Akello, like the other 4th year law students, has been doing dissertations, a compulsory research paper at the university before the award of the Bachelors of Law degree.
The cause of her death is not yet certain.
This is yet the second time a law student dies while doing her dissertation research. About the same time last year, the main campus lost another finalist, who was awarded her degree posthumously.
Students have taken to social media to mourn her death with others wondering over the timing of these deaths. But the spirit is the same, they had the best thoughts about her.
May her soul rest in eternal Peace.
