A 24-year-old Law student has formally entered Uganda’s 2026 presidential race, promising to take on the country’s entrenched corruption “from its roots.”
Pollin Nankambwe, who studies at Uganda Christian University in Mukono, picked up her nomination forms from the Electoral Commission this week. She says her vision is to build “an equal and corruption-free society” where opportunities are shared fairly among all citizens.
Her candidacy marks one of the youngest challenges in recent Ugandan political history — and will test how far youthful voices can push into the country’s highest political arena.
The Electoral Commission is expected to announce the full list of confirmed candidates later this year.
