News reaching our desks indicates that one of Uganda Christian University’s Lecturers’ Mr. Jonathan Mwesigwa a tutor at the Mukono based University’s Law School could be in trouble with Security Enforcement agencies over his allegations in an article published on his Facebook Account where he allegedly stated that H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni visited Kabaka Ronald Mwenda Mutebi’s Palace in Bbanda and bribed him with vehicles and wages for ministers so that the Kabaka can let go of the pursuit for Federo.
Mr. Jonathan Mwesigwa who also doubles as a Personal Assistant to Renown City lawyer Mr. Apollo Makubuya, the Former Deputy Katikkiro of Buganda is said to have been detained at Kireka Police Station to assist the security agencies with investigations.
In the article of contention, Mr. Jonathan Mwesigwa states that “…you may recall that on February 5, 2019 Kabaka Mutebi II hosted President Museveni at his Bbanda Palace over secret talks—the official version of which was reported by the press. One wonders, though, why the eleven car consignment of i.e., eight Toyota Land Cruisers and three Toyota TX Prados was not declared as part of the deal! The answer, one believes, lies not solely in some fundamental moral failings of the current (mis)leadership at Mmengo, but rather in understanding why it chose to “hire” corruption and yield to Museveni’s apparent politics of patronage—fully knowing (B)Uganda’s objectives of severing his cords of manipulation, exploitation, encirclement and strongman-ness inter alia.”
He further alleges that reshuffle that saw his boss Mr. Apollo Makubuya dropped from the position of Deputy Katikkiro in a Cabinet reshuffle was due to this very meeting that the President and the Kabaka had at his Palace in Bbanda. This prompted security agencies to swing into action and arrest the learned fellow for his attack on the Person of President. We will keep you posted on this story as it unfolds!
