Uganda Christian University (UCU) has officially sent off four students to the Netherlands for a five-month academic exchange programme at Hanze University of Applied Sciences, under the long-standing UCU–Hanze partnership.
The students, drawn from the School of Social Sciences and the School of Business, were blessed during a special meeting held at the university, marking the start of their international academic journey.
Speaking during the send-off, UCU Vice Chancellor Canon Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi urged the students to make the most of the opportunity by learning boldly, asking questions, and embracing new perspectives while remaining grounded in Christian values.
“You are ambassadors of UCU and Uganda. Learn with confidence, engage openly, and let your conduct reflect the values you have been nurtured in,” Prof. Mushengyezi told the students.
On behalf of the outgoing cohort, Esther Ankunda Agaba expressed gratitude to God, the university leadership, and parents for the opportunity, pledging to represent UCU with excellence and integrity throughout the programme.
Parents, Deans, and university officials present at the ceremony praised the exchange programme, describing it as a significant milestone that underscores UCU’s growing global recognition and commitment to internationalization and academic excellence.
The UCU–Hanze exchange partnership continues to provide students with exposure to global learning environments, strengthening cross-cultural collaboration and enhancing the university’s international academic footprint.
