Students from Uganda Christian University (UCU) determined in the same fight against the struggle Viola Nagasha goes through at Mulago Hospital cancer ward held 3 different campaigns during the weekend to gather funds for the treatment of Leukemia that is robbing this young girl of her health.
The students had a car wash at Total Bugerere in Mukono, a campaign in Seeta and also one at Kitara Entebbe.
On Saturday last weekend, the students, guided by the university guild held a car wash at Total Bugerere, in Mukono, where students participated in washing cars for the people that parked at the station. They also sold #SaveViola Tshirts and stickers and collected contributions that will be supplemented to the Viola fund.
The next day, on Sunday, they travelled to Entebbe town at a Church in Kitara to attend service that was dedicated to her. During the process of the service, some students decided to use make use of their time to wash cars outside the parking of the church so as to generate funds.
While at the church, another team had stayed in Mukono to campaign at the district level receiving collections from the concerned public. The students marched with a band and moved to some institutions around the district until they reached Seeta High, Mbalala campus where the administration of the institution accepted to do a #SaveViola show at the school at a later date. The campaign was launched during a Rotaract sports gala that was happening at the school at that time.
A total of about Shs.3 million was collected from the campaigns during the weekend.
