Like any formidable institution, identity is key especially that of the key stakeholders. Similarly, Uganda Christian University (UCU) is set to issue identity cards to students, mainly the new ones.
The UCU Communication and Public Relations Department has today informed the students’ community that the issuance of student IDs will take effect from Monday 28th March 2022 to Friday, 1st April 2022, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm every day.
Students that are getting their identity cards for the first time will only require a passbook. However, students who lost theirs and need replacement will be required to pay extra cash accompanied by a police letter.
“For students who lost their IDs, pay 15,000/= at Cash Office (Accounts) and come with the receipt & a Police letter. Thank you,” a memo read.
One of the victims of the above shared their dissatisfaction with the procedure arguing that it is quite time consuming.
“I appreciate the vigilance of the University but honestly the process of replacing a school I.D like I’m replacing a national one or a SIM card is kind of unfair. Issues involving police are not always easy,” the student expressed freely.
Attached is the detailed memo regarding the students’identity cards;
