Uganda Christian University (UCU)’s current semester, also known as the Easter Semester, commenced on 6th February a day after the students had completed their end of semester exams.
There was a little confusion after the presidential address where President Museveni announced the reopening of universities in a staggered manner.
The Mukono based campus top administration later sat and drafted a schedule of the staggered reopening for this current semester.
In a memo to all the students and staff, the UCU Vice Chancelor, Ass. Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi noted that the finalists report and commence lectures on Monday 8th February 2021.
Continuing students will attend online classes until the end of this month.
Thereafter, a new program detailing how they will return to campus for physical classes will be provided by different Faculty Deans.
First year students are expected to report to campus on the 1st of March 2021 and all of them will reside in the University Halls.
This news comes at a time when a number of first-year students had either booked hostels or fully paid for them.
For Post-Graduate students, they will be conducting their studies online.
Prof. Aaron further urged the faculty deans to ensure science students have a practical system of learning organised for them where SOPs are followed.
