What may have initially started out as a walking race competition amongst the various vice chancellors to different universities all across East Africa ravelled into a run and hopping session.
After the Uganda Christian University vice chancellor Canon Rev. John Ssenyonyi officiating the 2014 all East African University games, it was time for the elders to tussle it out on foot.
In one jollity scenario his lordship Arch Bishop Ntagali who too serves as the university’s chancellor showed the true instincts of a king when he graced the walk race in his D40 Toyota Prado. This boss must be allergic to the UCU dust.
At the end of the walk race, UCU vice chancellor, Ssenyonyi was crowned champion of the 2014 East African University Walk Race Competition.
While addressing the entire East African University community at the opening ceremony, Reverend Ssenyonyi stated that sports is an opportunity to the youth to attain discipline and not only fitness. He therefore asked the visiting parties to be good visitors while around university.
“The major challenge we as a university faced was the delayed registration and payment from the universities.” Rev Canon Ssenyoyi stressed out.
