Uganda Christian University (UCU) emerged Winners at the 2nd Biennial Strathmore Moot Court Competition organised by Center for Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law (CIPIT) and held at Strathmore Law School in Nairobi Kenya on the 8th – 9th of July 2016.
There were 13 universities that included Kampala International University (KIU), Strathmore University, Uganda Christian University (UCU), University of Nairobi, and University of Dar es Salaam among others.
The competition had four rounds; Pre-liminary rounds, quarter finals, semi finals and finals. The first two were held on Friday the 8th and the last two were held on Saturday the 9th.
Uganda Christian University presented two teams. Team 17 that managed to qualify to quarter finals where it got beaten by the University of Nairobi and Team 16 which comprised of Okia Joseph, Twongeirwe Isabel and Kalondo Paul and this was the winning team.
UCU therefore are coming back home with unending smiles. They managed to also win the highly coveted “Best Orator” accolade.
“We are so humbled to have emerged victors in such a competitive moot. We trusted in God and ourselves and we have everything to show of it”, Joseph Okia who emerged Best Orator intimated to us.
