The Uganda Christian University Constitutional Review Commission headed by the Speaker of the UCU Guild Assembly reviewed the previous constitution of this prestigious christian university. UCU now has a set of new laws up its sleeves after their Guild Constitution was amended this past week.
The Students’ Guild Constitution amendment no. 1 of 2018 sought to add and modify some of the articles. Only 9 articles; 1, 4, 5, 6, 15, 27, 46, 68 & 115 were affected including a definition of the term “minorities” as there stated in the same Constitution.
The process is there to enable the Guild Body have flexible laws and to provide for certain unforeseen circumstances in the institution’s jurisprudence.
