Uganda Christian University – Mbale center clergy on Friday witnessed the Bamasaba crowned as the cultural gala winners. The event which was always organized in the September semester was now shifted to March. A number of students cultural groups took part in the event namely; Basoga, Sabin, japadohla, itesots, bamasaba, bagwere and the basamya.
The Sabin who emerged last years winners of the same event where a great disappointment to the warm seating crowd. Then came the Bamasaba who danced their famous traditional dance “kadodi” who portrayed consistent in their energy levels and enthusiasm that set the watching crowd of students into enormous ululations.
After all the cultural groups had finished with their presentation it was now for the panel of judges to throw their verdict. The judges announced the Bamasaba as the emerging winners of the cultural event which sent the kadodi students into a frenzy. The Basoga came second followed by itesots, Japadohlas, Sabin, Bagwere and lastly the Basamya. However most students seemed not aware of the event since most presentation where not cultural.
