Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) has inaugurated the UMU-ACE Radio, at the main branch in Nkozi.
Launched on June 20, 2024, by a representative of Hon. Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo, Minister of State for ICT and National Guidance, this radio station is set to be a powerful tool for bridging gaps, disseminating information both in and out of the university.
According to the university statement released on X, UMU-ACE Radio will serve as a training ground for students, offering hands-on experience in broadcasting, journalism, and media production.
It will also broadcast educational programs, local news, cultural shows, and community discussions, reflecting the interests and concerns of its audience.
“This initiative aligns with national goals of enhancing educational opportunities and fostering community development,” a tweet read.
Students have been encouraged to use this platform to amplify voices and remain dedicated to truth and societal betterment.
