A section of pre-intern doctors who have been on strike over delayed deployment have promised to walk naked on 05th June if government fails to address their plight.
Shamim Nambassa, a pharmaceutical pre-intern doctor and former Makerere university Guild president notified her colleagues on a post she shared.
‘‘This time round we shall undress,” Shamim said.
The former Guild president was arrested last month for leading the pre-intern doctors on a strike over the unanswered questions.
Ms. Shamim confirmed the new tactic for the demonstration dubbed “Bloody Monday” slated for next week.
Shamim’s approach was welcomed by former Gulu university Guild president, Dr. Anyama Berliner who also accepted to march without attires.
“This time I will walk naked,’’ Anyama supported the move.
Just like his other colleagues, Dr. Anyama faced the wrath of the Uganda police Force (UPF) last month when he was arrested in Gulu city while on a quest for internship deployment with other students during the demonstration.

Even after several attempts to get their plights solved, the government is still mute without any solution for the furious pre-medical interns. The silence has coerced the students to declare June 5 as a day for another bloody march following the delays.
The interns, have accused the government of empty promises.
While appearing before the Committee on Health on May 4,, 2023, the State Minister for Higher Education, Hon John Chryestom Muyingo revealed that a nine-member committee was set to draft a policy aimed at brushing the common student unrest in the country.
The resolution, however, seems to make little meaning to the pre-intern students who feel frustrated by the government.
