Uganda will host Presidents of Students Societies (LSS) from Africa starting from Monday, 14th March, 2022 to Monday ,21st March , 2022, Campus Bee has learnt.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Campus Bee, Uganda Law Students Association President Ssenyonga Julius who is also the President of Islamic University in Uganda Kampala Campus Law Students Society (IUIU LSS) says the event is the first of its kind in the country to host delegates from Federation of African Law Students.
Ssenyonga says the visit of the legal students during the Uganda Law Students Association week (14th March, 2022 to 22st March, 2021) is important to law students in Uganda.
“We shall discuss much about the available opportunities of a law student at both continental and international levels,” he says.
According to Uganda Law Students Association President, the visit will allow the students leaders talk about the global opportunities available for law students such as scholarships.
“The major factor of the visit is to explore the available opportunities in legal education sector in Uganda and also uniting all law students in Africa for one voice,” he told Campus Bee.
The event will bring together Law Students Association Presidents from several countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Senegal and South africa under the theme “African Destiny of Young Lawyers .”
According to a letter that Campus Bee has seen, the President of Law Students’ Association of Nigeria , Sen. Michael M. Arinze has confirmed to attend the event.
“On behalf of Law Students’ Association of Nigeria, I write to convey our acceptance to attend the Uganda Law Students Association week,” says the President of Law Students’ Association of Nigeria in his acceptance letter.
The event has been organized by the Uganda Law Students Association through its President Ssenyonga julius alongside Tumwebaza Elizabeth who is the Country Coordinator of Federation of African Law Students in Uganda.
