You must be wondering what the Up Accelerate campaign is all about. The Up Accelerate Campaign is an initiative by United National Population Fund (UNFPA) East and Southern Africa, implemented by Outbox and funded by UKAID to explore new and engaging ways of tackling pressing Sexual Reproductive Health challenges through promoting social entrepreneurship among young people.

Last year during the first cycle of the campaign, four teams (DrugDash, Snap HMIS, Teheca, and iDrain) won up to $40,000 in seed funding and are still undergoing business mentorship.

We managed to get a quick quote from each team;

“We believe that more lives can be saved if the stocking of drugs in public health facilities can be optimized.”- Team Drug Dash

“We believe that access to accurate and real-time data of clinical activities will enable medical professionals to save more lives.”- Team SNAP HMIS.

“We believe that young mothers can become emotionally stronger and raise healthier children if they have access to skilled & dedicated healthcare assistants.”- Team Teheca

The Up Accelerate is not a campaign for only those that have digital innovations but for anyone with a solution that can solve a Sexual Reproductive Health Problem.

The second cycle of the campaign looks to tackle to challenges;

  1. How might we improve demand and access to essential maternal health medicines and supplies in Uganda?
  2. How might we improve the use of data in healthcare planning, monitoring, and delivery?

To get a chance of winning up to $40,000, create your team today and submit your idea before Sunday 30th April.
