Drama unfolded yesterday outside CBS radio studios as Habib Buwembo’s lawyers attempted to serve MP Kato Lubwama with summons to appear in Court over his academic papers just after his morning show on Buganda Kingdom’s radio. Buwembo is the Rubaga South voter whose investigations uncovered the skeletons in Kato Lubwama’s academic wardrobe.
Our eyewitness informs us that Mr. Lubwama put up a scene that attracted the attention of everyone in the vicinity when he was informed by Counsel Ssemakadde Isaac of Centre for Legal Aid that he was there to serve him with the summons.
“He snatched the summons from the lawyer, threw them on the ground and started trampling on and dragging them on the ground with his feet angrily as the lawyers looked on in bewilderment. He then raced to his car opened the door and attempted to speed away but Counsel Ssemakadde scurried after him and threw another copy of the summons in Mr. Lubwama’s car before the latter could close the door. At that point Mr. Lubwama got physical and twisted his face in utter fury but was restrained in the nick of time by one of his aides.”
Until this point, the portly legislator had maintained an unfazed attitude about the revelations from UNEB and the growing drive to eject him from Parliament.
The court summons come just days after it was discovered that the said MP had failed his senior four exams and had also submitted wrong academic papers with a different name the the know, “Kato Lubwama
