The president’s address of the nation on coronavirus that was held yesterday at State House in Entebbe has brought a standstill to so many activities that involve big masses of people.
Schools, universities and other tertiary institutions have been brought to a standstill plus many other gatherings including prayers, funerals and weddings.
Earlier on today, the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has come out to announce the postponement of the registration exercise for students for the final UNEB exams of all education levels below university.
The executive secretary of the board, Mr Dan Nocratch Odong while addressing the media said that the board will now sit and adjust the timetable for this exercise. The days that had been suggested for this exercise are in the 32 days that the president called for a mass gathering shutdown.
This also affects the universities in the country in such a way that if this exercise is done at a later time, it may affect the time at which senior six leavers do their exams and this will also affect the entry dates of universities which may lead to adjustments in their teaching timetables.
We shall be communicating new dates that will be announced in the UNEB board meeting which is to be held soon.
