The 11th season of the University Football League (UFL) is set to commence with draws for group stages concluding.
On Thursday February 23, the Association of University University Sports (AUUS) met at Kati Kati Restaurant in Lugogo where the draws for the group stages of this year’s tournament were held.
AUUS Chairperson Peninnah Kabenge was in the company of vice president Vincent Kisenyi, general secretary Patrick Ssebuliba and organising committee chairman Obal Atubo for the event.
The league is slated to start on 7th March 2023 with 24 teams competing as Uganda Martyrs University strives to defend the title they won when they beat St Lawrence University last year.
Group leaders and two best runners up from each group will progress to the next stage of the competition.

Makerere University has been the most prolific offender including last season where they were fined sh1m and docked six points and goals over unsporting behaviour in a group match against YMCA.
The finals to be played in November and the first game will be hosted by defending Champions Uganda Martyrs University – Nkozi.
Two universities have been added to the League making a total of 24 Universities with the addition of ISBAT University and the return Kampala International University (KIU).
