This followed successful registration of all participants in this year’s edition, the draws were held and universities clustered into five groups each containing four teams.
Defending champions Uganda Christian University was lucky to be grouped with Kumi University, IUIU and KIU which are taken to be underdogs in the tournament.
Group A has been identified as the group of death, anticipated to portray stiff competition in the tournament.
These include Mbarara University, University of Kisubi, Kabale University and Kyambogo University.
The 9th edition of the University Football league was last held in March 2020 due to the outbreak of covid-19 pandemic.
