Fraternity at Kabale University are in utter shock after one of their students, Joab Arinda, 23, was knocked dead on Monday by a speeding vehicle in Kitumba Trading Center in Kabale.
Kigezi Region Police has confirmed the incident as a hit and run fatal accident.
The deceased was in second academic year pursuing bachelor in agribusiness and was a resident of Nyakambu Cell in the Southern division of Kabale Municipality.
It is reported that he was knocked down as he tried to cross the road on his way from internship activities, along Katuna-Kabale direction.
The University is yet to release a statement on the unfortunate happening
Friends have expressed sadness following the loss of their colleague
Police is now hunting for the driver of motor vehicle registration number UAY 967K responsible for the tragic incident.
