On 9th June 2022, the Executive Committee of the Uganda National Students Association (UNSA) led by its serving President H.E Welunga Yusuf, the secretary for publicity and information Kipeya Dennis and the Executive secretary Cherukut Toskin Fred helped a female student who had lost hopes of proceeding with her education.
These were at University Link High school in Mbale city where they responded to assist a student in form six identified as Fatina Mutesi.
According to reports, Mutesi had sat at home for a while due to financial constraints and could no longer continue attending school due to the accumulated school dues.
As part of it’s corporate social responsibility, UNSA cleared her fees for second and third term fully and encouraged her to read harder so as to motivate others in the same situation.
UNSA President called upon students out there who are stranded financially and are unable to continue with their academics to reach out to them for similar assistance.
UNSA, through it’s current leadership has been helping out students in higher institutions of learning to attain sustainable education through lobbying for bursaries from the Ministry of Education, Universities and institutions.
